Ambient Spaces

“Ambient Spaces” is a dynamic website created for UCLA’s “Ghestalt” online exhibition. It offers users an interactive map with clickable markers that lead to immersive audio visualizations of the ambiance in each location. These markers were contributed by friends worldwide, who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, couldn’t physically be together.

Acquaintances Through Iteration

“Acquaintances Through Iteration” is an interactive art installation showcased at “H=CN” in Tokyo. When guests approach the piece, their movements are tracked through an infrared sensor, enabling them to paint using their body’s motions. The brush strokes subsequently spread and animate, unveiling additional images the longer a spot is painted.

The Fated Game of Life

A generative art project exploring Cellular Automata, a computer program simulating the life of cellular organisms. I adapted the original algorithm to create a painting software showcased at the UCLA undergrad exhibit “Metamorphosis”.

URBAN

URBAN is an exploration of the relationship between sounds and form. Rather than the traditional process of creating a movie and adding sound effects, I flipped the workflow. I started by crafting a soundtrack from ambient noises I gathered during my trip to Japan. These sounds became the blueprint for storyboarding the motion.

EXID

I was commissioned to create a music video for the K-POP band EXID’s song “ME&YOU,” which served as the opening for their summer 2019 tour “TROUBLE.” I handled the storyboarding and production of the video.

DREAM RECALL

“DREAM RECALL” replicates the voyage of NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope, a pioneering instrument that revolutionized outer space research with its discovery of hundreds of exoplanets in close proximity to our solar system. All data employed in this project is sourced directly from NASA’s databases dedicated to the Kepler Space Telescope.
